Growing & Maintenance Tips for Buxus sempervirens 'Elegantissima'

With minimal to no pruning ‘Elegantissima’ will develop into a slightly pyramidal plant. If a more rounded shape is desired, prune lightly in late winter or early spring. Thinning is recommended either in winter for holiday decorations or in late winter to early spring before new growth appears. This will help sunlight and air penetrate the canopy of the plant which reduces disease incidence.

‘Elegantissima’ is somewhat resistant to boxwood leafminer but very susceptible to boxwood blight. If planted properly, it has few other pest or disease issues. Avoid areas with harsh winter winds.
